You've seen other rating systems like Klout, but they build authority scores overall, so someone who scores highly is highly rated even for topics they aren't knowledgeable about. For instance, if someone is authoritative on, say, cloud, like @werner, their authority shouldn't also transfer to, say, wine. Here's the founder talking about Peer Index, which keeps authority rankings by topic. ||
